METHODOLOGY:

Understanding BEA Foundation’s Interventions

The Architecture for Action was developed with the input of economic mobility practitioners, policy experts, and cross-sector leaders, but most importantly, it’s shaped by the lived experiences of Black Americans. We analyzed evidence-based interventions against four key criteria to determine those with the potential for maximum impact:

01.

Breadth of evidence

The intervention and its impacts on Black communities are well-studied and understood, as demonstrated by both the number and rigor of academic studies.

02.

Depth of impact

The intervention and its impacts on Black communities are well-studied and understood, as demonstrated by both the number and rigor of academic studies.

03.

Number of Black Americans potentially affected

The intervention stands to directly or indirectly benefit a significant number of Black individuals if implemented at scale.

04.

Feasibility of implementation

The intervention can be implemented in a fairly independent way, irrespective of actions taken by other institutions, industries, or sectors.
